Building Homes for Those in Need With Sea Island Habitat for Humanity
Today I’m joined by a special guest, Louis Kines from Sea Island Habitat for Humanity, to talk about what he and the organization as a whole do for our community.
According to Louis, Sea Island Habitat for Humanity builds upwards of 10 homes per year for those in need.
“Homes are priced pretty outrageously in Charleston and in a lot of places right now. So, people a lot of times can’t dig out of the hole they find themselves in when paying rent every month,” said Louis.
”
But thanks to volunteer work and donations, Sea Island Habitat for Humanity is able to offer homes for about 60% of their appraised values.
This wouldn’t be possible without the work of volunteers. At the Matt O’Neill team, we always try to do our part for the community. This is why my team members and I took our Friday off at the office to come here and help build this home.
If you’d ever like to volunteer yourself, you can visit www.SeaIslandHabitat.org.
If you have any other questions or would like more information, feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
